MY BRAND NEW 'ALBUM FEEL UP VOL. 1' IS OUT ON 18 FEB!
I couldn't even tell how many albums there have been, but I really love this body of work. It started as little sketches in Barcelona and quite quickly turned into 40 tracks! … Couldn't put them all on one album so I decided to split the best ones amongst 2 volumes. I called it 'Feel Up' because I was very drawn to Grace Jones and her track 'Feel Up'. To me it embodies what I want to convey with the album.
Music to feel, to create, to vibe, to relax to do everything … Welcome to Daddy Vad's Feel Up Vol. 1!
Let me introduce Loopmasters: Tropical Dancehall to you!
This is an audio sample pack with loops and one-shots (individual sounds of drums, kick drums, snare drums, hi-hats, percussion of basslines, guitars, keyboards, flutes, saxophones, bells, accordions, harmonicas and vocal snippets and sound bites...)
1.2 gigabytes of sounds to get you going regardless of what music you do...if you're making trap or drill, hip hop or boom bap, reggae or dancehall, jungle, house or afrobeat...
It's called Tropical Dancehall because it's a journey that goes from Colombia to to the Caribbean, to Jamaica to West Africa and back to London...
So if you are into the urban grittiness of London with the tropical highlights of west Africa, Caribbean and the northern part of South America, Columbia... I GOT YOU!
Let me present you the very first episode of what is hopefully going to evolve to a series...
Tiny Café Concerts is a simple idea: a tiny café and two musicians, but what can and will happen in this cozy setup is hopefully even beyond our imagination.
Sena and I first met in a similarly out-of-the-box situation, back in 2004 after a 4 hour long set in the legendary Mokka Cukka...
High and drunk we started jamming, banging on pots and pans and glasses, and Sena started freestylin'...The very next day we met in a studio again and recorded our first song...and the rest is history.
Sena is one of my Budapest family, and this is going to be such an amazing live concert...this is not just a livestream...we are going to bring back some songs from Grow Slow and we have special new things too...
it's been a year that the whole world is in this shitty lockdown but we are here to bring some good vibes, uplift the spirit from Ghana to Budapest, from London to Barcelona, we are bringing good vibes everywhere.
We are broadcasting live Thursday, 29, 5.30 pm from a secret location yummy-yummy café in Budapest...and as a bonus, we are making a Banana Bread with Sena...so tune in with us to see how that goes...
Your contribution to this event is appreciated, please consider donating a symbolic amount, a price of a beer or a coffee. The fee of the virtual ticket is set to a minimum 4 EUR, but you can pay as much as you like.
You can purchase your ticket here.
So my brand new collab with Vyper Ranking is out now!
A few moons ago, about 10 perhaps, I met David. He told me he was going on a East Africa adventure and asked me wether I wanted to sign up...
I saw later that Mungo's Hi Fi went there, Eva Lazarus and stuff and I said: wow Uganda...Kenya! I would love to get there...and I was seeing more and more artist going...like music-wise you hear a lot about West Africa...Lagos, Nigeria, Accra, Ghana...but not so much about East Africa...and I started to see these things happening there...
...fast forward to 2019 and Daddy Vad lands in Kampala, Uganda! I spent around 10 days in Uganda and 4 days in Kenya...What an amazing place...yes it's quite poor, they are developing countries but some of the nicest people I ever met on this planet..,wicked vibes, colours, fashion, music, and reggae runs the place.
So here I am, making a music album..and the first fruit of this is a song called 'Wicked' with Vyper Ranking.
Happy listening people, I hope you guna like it!
