The brainchild of renowned beat taster DJ Vadim, The Electric released their debut album in 2011, Life is Moving. The album was written on the road and has kept moving, seeing the group tour constantly, playing at some of the biggest and best parties and festivals on planet earth, including Glastonbury, China, Hip Hop Kemp and all over Europe and the USA. The Electric are DJ Vadim, Pugs Atomz and Graziella Affinita, who has recently replaced Sabira Jade in the group. Their music combines bass, hip hop and soul, it’s heartfelt music stemming from artistic honesty, and it’s that honesty that brought new band member Graziella Affinita from her old group, Miss Frank who were X-Factor Semi-Finalists and signed to Simon Cowell’s SyCo management company before she joined the group.
‘The Electric’s songs are filled with more triumph, more sadness, more faith in the supernatural, much deeper feelings’ - DJ Vadim.
DJ Vadim (aka Vadim Peare) is a prolific DJ and producer, born in Leningrad, USSR (now Saint Petersburg, Russia), raised in London and currently residing in both London and Berlin, his music combines hip hop, soul, reggae and electronica. He has been described as "one of the few artists creating genuinely new work in the Hip-Hop field" and an artist who "cannot be ignored," "a veteran presence in the DJ community as well as one of the foremost producers in too many communities to count, Vadim is never running out of ideas," URB Magazine. Vadim moved from St Petersburg to London at the age of 5, but this story begins in 1992. Vadim bought a sampler and started working on the music that would become Abstract Hallucinating Gases and Headz Ain't Ready EP’s (1995). Later in the year he signed to the iconic record label, Ninja Tune, and so began the whirlwind that is the life of DJ Vadim.
